New Trinity

Post by Poppy828 »

Evening everyone,

Just received my Trinity last night. Did all the updates via the PC before plugging it into my Truck. Truck is 2013 Chevy Silverado 4x4 5.3L. Just turned a little over 5,000 miles.

Anyway, I then plugged it into my truck and saved the stock tune and then installed the 87 octane tune. Went for a drive and did not notice anything different. Installed the stock tune again and went for a drive just for peace of mind. Re-installed the 87 tune and still did not notice any difference over the stock with the exception of the pretty monitoring display.

Not sure what the issue is, but looking to see if others have experienced this? I have driven the truck with the 87 tune for 45 miles today and didn't notice anything at all.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!

Thats because you're using the 87 octane tune. You can only do so much with shitty gas. Fill up with 93 and use the good tune, then you'll notice it.

I understand there are limits to a tune for low octane fuel. However, I should have noticed a change in something. Shifting points, throttle response.......I have not noticed anything. We have 93 octane here, and it's over $4 a gallon. I drive (normally) far too many miles a week to justify using that fuel for my multiple fuel stops a week.

Thanks for your reply.
