Ford ranger tune

Post by Bwymike »

I have a 08 Ford ranger FX4 4.0
speedo isn't right (35s on the truck)
no option to change speed limit
rev limiter isn't working properly in neutral rev limit is still 3000 rpm
here is a copy of the tune I'm using right now

for tire size changes to take effect, you have to flip the enable axle ratio change param, done here.

speed limit is raised to 145 in the tune :)

be sure to reset parameters when loading this tune.

Thank you and what gear ratio did you set it to? and how much Spark advance is safe to use?

it showed stock gears of 4.10:1.

spark is determined by octane, the tunes are already set up properly for spark based on the octane you chose.

Thanks

yes I tried it 3 times. I saved the original tune then took it off the tuner and put the _fix in its place and the tuner deleted it again.

how can I change the tune that is on the tuner (the original one) when its hooked up to the truck to have the speedo right and the 145 MPH speed limit?

I know it seems confusing at first, but the files are not actually deleting from the tool when you drop it into the INTUNE drive, they are actually importing to he tool from the drive. If you transferred a file to the INTUNE drive and it didn't disappear, that would mean it wasn't formatted properly. The 'tunes' folder only ever contains the last tune written and Original Backup (stock tune) when the tool is married.

When you get the tool plugged into the vehicle, select Tune Vehicle / Write Vehicle / Custom Tunes and the tune Mike L made for you should be there.

the speedo works on this tune but the truck is SLOW with it I don't know if the mistake is on my end or yours but it can hadly spin the tires in the rain and the other tune can break them lose when its dry

on my intune there is no option change: speed limit, rev limit in neutral, torque management (no 100% sure if the truck has this), no way to tune off TPMS, and the speedo cal doesn't work. could you see if in the next update you could work these things in? thank you
