iNTune Freezes Tune or Datalog - Connected Pontiac G8 GT

I have a problem with my iNTune "freezing up." Big problem because I can't return the Pontiac G8 back to stock factory tune to go to the dealership.

iNTune starts o.k., it works to pick tuning, read codes, or data log. But when the status screen as it tries to recognize the car it freezes (spinning circle screen). See attached "inf" and info file from the iNTune device.
Earlier the same day, I succeeded with logging data & modifying the engine tune file no problem. Later same day, I tried to data log and failed. Also failed trying tool to recognize the vehicle.

Steps I tried for troubleshooting listed below.

* Rebooted iNTune several times, error persists.
* Connect iNTune to computer, run update (already updated), connect to car, problem persists.
* Connect iNTune to car, then connect same time to laptop computer, error persists.
* Loaded older iNTune files databasese (drag-drop) then upgraded again to newest versions.
(InTune-1r01i.itf, GM_TUNES-1r01v.ITF, cdrom-1r01l.itf)
* Disconnected car battery for 15 mins, reconnect battery, connect iNTune, problem remains.
* Checked all related car fuses are good. Also connected another OBDII tool verified works.
* Verified the iNTune works connected to 2010 Buick (other car) and can data log, record codes etc.

Who in Tech Support should I talk to? I've emailed all of these folks but it looks like they don't work at Diablo Sport anymore.....bounce back "address doesn't exist."

MikeL, thanks for the reply from you and talking it through with tech support "Vas" over the phone. I was advised it's a known issue your team is working a software/firmware update for the iNTune tool.

Good to know you keep factory stock tune copies remotely that can be pushed to the iNTune. So the car can be returned to stock for dealership visits until the software fix is released.

Mikel, I updated the iNTune with the file you posted, InTune-1t03ug.itf
Same problem this did not fix the problem.... I confirmed the "test update" is definitely on the iNTune.

I hooked it up to the car and tried menu "Tune Vehicle"--->"Adjustable Parameters"
The tool started to communicate with the car (spinning circle showing progress) but the tool froze again as it did before the 1t03ug update.

Question: Should I try loading that "test" file " InTune-1t03ug.itf " and then run the Intune.exe on the tool (PC connect) to update itself online again?

Question: Should I load an older tool firmware InTune-1r01i.itf ? Try linking to car then go back to PC and install the update "1t03ug"?

Question: What about the steps you recommended for a 2011 Camaro similar problems? Is "GM_TUNES-1t01xb.ITF" a "test file" special for that owner's problem not "stable release"? Should I update my tool with that GM tune file too "GM_TUNES-1t01xb.ITF"?

no need for the adj param button, just select tune vehicle/write vehicle, tell me what it does please.

I followed your directions with the new "test" file. Tune---->Write Vehicle. Still freezes up. Won't read OBDII scan codes either (I don't have vehicle errors but it should be communicating and it's not).

As i mentioned other told work fine talking to to Pontiac G8GT.

1) "Hard" reset on the tool, I called on the phone, iNTune booted up connected to the Pontiac. We exchanged the 16 character code the tool generates in "advanced settings" Garrett replied with code to reset.

2) Sync tool w/vehicle it copied the tune file(s) which I sent by email. Mike/Garrett replied with a factory tune file(s) one each for engine & transmission. I resynced the tool with the Pontiac, it pushed the factory stock tune to the vehicle.

3) Tuned vehicle with modified settings etc. Success at that point.

4) Tool still freezes (less often) only when trying to "data log" readings from the vehicle.

Mike/Garrett sent another update "test" file for the tool operating software....."InTune-1t03ui.itf" So the tune files themselves may not be the problem?

That test file fixed most of the problems freezing up....still some odd hiccups and blank screens. I didn't have these problems before the Nov/Dec update InTune-1r03t.itf that pushed to everyone.

inTune still freezes up once in a while when tuning or data logging. Temporary fix is call DiabloSport & they give code to reset the tool.
I'm good for now, but expect long term fix will be a new firmware version but unknown date when that will be ready.
Customer support Mon-Fri during work hours.
