Let's Talk CALID's for Challengers...

I'm trying to increase my knowledge on Challenger CALID's and hoping someone can clarify for me. Below are some questions....

1. Is there a list of all the Challenger CALID's listed somewhere?
2. Does the list describe the differences?
3. Are specific CALID's only used on 6-speeds vs automatics?
4. What do the numbers in front the letter designations mean?
5. For instance, if I have 12345678AD vs 01010111AD, does that tell me something specific?
6. Or are the numbers a car defining feature?

My question arises from the fact I have a 6-speed RT with the xxxxxxxxAD code. My Predator wants me to downgrade down to the xxxxxxxxAC code. My car runs strong but has the infamous "throttle lag". Obviously I would like to tune the car, but also rid myself of this annoyance.

In speaking to other Challenger enthusiasts, I understand the AE code does not have the throttle lag. However, these other 6-speed owners are typically going from the AG code to the AE code; not AD to AC.

I've heard to get the AE code, I need crom version 23 -- which I have; however, when I try to install on my Predator, it hangs at "Launching Apps". The only way I can get it to work is back date to crom version 27. With 27, I am getting the request to go from AD to AC, which is confusing to me because others tell me 23 forces them to switch to the AE code, why would 27 force me to downgrade to AC?

So if someone can further help me understand CALID's and how they work with the Predator, I would be grateful. Also, how can I get my Predator to 23? I'm okay staying at 23 if I can get rid of the throttle lag.

Do you know which CALID's are used on manuals vs automatics? I am curious because it seems most 6-speed owners have either the AG or the AE code. My car is a 6-speed and has the AD code from the factory. My Predator wants to downgrade it to the AC code. I seem to be the oddball. One of my elementary thoughts was that maybe Dodge installed an "automatic" CALID on my 6-speed car. What made me further suspect this is that when I plugged in the Predator and agreed to downgrade to the AC code, the Predator gives me AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION options to change.

Is that normal? I would think the Predator would understand my car is a 6-speed and give me options to change for a 6-speed, like skip shift eliminate for instance.

There are hundreds of cals for all the 08-14 Challengers...

The letters at the end are the version. AA, AB, AC, AD, AE........... All Chrysler parts are labeled like that. Most manufacturers change the number for new versions, Chrysler just changes the last letter.

I understand that Dodge wouldn't intentionally put an auto CALID on my car. And I'm not saying it has one. I just can't compute in my head why the hell other people with the 27 crom is getting an "AG" CALID but mine is downgrading to an "AC". Then when I plug in the Predator, I only see options for AUTOMATIC transmission settings!

Can someone explain one or either part to me? Do other people with 6-speeds see the same settings? If so, that seems a bit retarded. I'd think a 6-speed car would see 6-speed options and an auto car would see auto options when the Predator is plugged in.

Does that make sense?
