Original Backup has the wrong Tire Size

Post by kwak86 »

I have a 2011 Dodge Charger Mopar edition and I've been trying to restore the car to factory so I can get some recalls taken care of and a New York State inspection at a local dealer. When I reset all the quick adjusts and restore the original backup, the Tire Size defaults to 48.5". This causes the speedometer to read double what I am going. The default is supposed to be around 27.5" or 28". How do I get the correct tire size when I unmarry the device from my car? If I only adjust the tire size without installing a tune, the tuner is still married to the car. Will having the device married cause the inspection to fail again? I already failed state inspection once because I didn't drive the car at all after I restored it to original.

If it helps, here are the files I have on the tuner.

I have the same issue, when returning to the factory stock tune, my speedo reads higher/faster that it should, also making the odometer log miles on my car faster than it should. I am actually taking my car to the dealer tomorrow, on a factory rune of course, and having them see if the can reset my PCM so the speedo will read correct again on a stock tune.
I messed with the tire and rear axle settings while tuned, making them what the car has, but I am told not to do that, as the intune reads your VIN and automatically will default to what your car has, unless you have changed any of the stock tires or rearend,

set it to the correct size with the stock tune loaded, and give us a call with the tool powered up in the car and we'll reset it.

Thanks

I happened to leave my tuner at home today. I do have the correct tire size loaded with no tunes installed. Will you be open around 6:30pm eastern time today? Or will I need to call tomorrow afternoon?
Thanks

I had the dealer reset my cars computer, on the stock factory tune of course. My speedo was reading about 7MPH over, they put it on the dyno, and while the speedo read 40MPH, the car was actually only going 33MPH.
So, when I re-tune it, I am not going to mess with the tire and axle settings at all, as that is what seemed to start all my troubles, as my wheels and tires and axle are all stock and I thought it wouldn't hurt to enter my info, but I guess the tuner recognizes the stock setup and by entering that info, confuses it I am guessing when going back to stok.

I tried calling 3 times today. I've been waiting on the line now for 30 minutes and it's almost 6pm. Is there a time of day I can call when I don't have to wait more than 5 minutes?

early is best, 9:00 AM EST, before about 10:30.

We were short handed today as one of my guys called in sick unfortunately.

I've been waiting on the line from 9am to present and don't have much more time to wait. Is there a faster way to get in touch with someone?

Never mind. I got through and the device is reset.
