Gains With Ported Throttle Body?

Post by GHOSTCHARG3R »

I have read many mixed reviews on whether a Throttle Body will produce any gains or any difference for that matter.

Has anyone had experience with upgrading their TB?

Diablosport employees, What is your take on tuning for these and is it worth it?

Minimal. Dyno testing on my heads/cam 6.1 Jeep SRT8 showed no gains between a ported stocker, 85mm and 90mm. The stock TB flows more than enough air for a 5.7, 6.1, 6.4, all the way up to a 426. You may see a throttle response increase initially, but once the computer learns that disappears.

EDIT: Wait, are we talking about a V6?

I was interested in seeing opinions across all engine types, however, I would be most interested in the difference a TB makes on a V6 engine.

I don't think anybody here has experience with it on the Pentastar.

I cant see it adding much at all. Gotta remove restrictions to see gains with airflow mods, and i doubt the TB is a restriction at stock power level.

Alright, Thanks. I was curious because I had an individual claim that it would give me much better drive ability response and 12 hp/tq. I'm just a little hesitant to spend $300-400 without more people backing up those gains.
