tire size setting for 2014 gmc sierra

is there any difference whether you select the tire size height on inches vs selecting tire size height on height, aspect ratio and rim size? I have 35 inch mickey Thompson tires, and when trying to select using the second method I wasn't given an option to enter it as 35inchx12.50 inchXr20...the size was only in mm not inches. so I selected the overall tire size height as 35 inches instead. is there anything wrong with this method of tire height selection?

best/most accurate way to do it is to actually measure your tire from the ground to the top of the tire, and enter that inches amount for the size...

so measure and just enter that total height under the second setting...so instead of 35 inches, just put whatever the measured height is (which I am assuming is less), and don't bother messing with the first tire setting where you choose aspect ratio and rim size?
