So I bought my 2004 Ford F150 FX4 with 41K miles on it. I didn't get a deal but I paid fair market value. The truck has all the bells and whistles, was owned and maintained by a certified Ford mechanic and was near mint condition. Truth be told I spent $24,500. After the transaction was over I ask the original owner just for shits and giggles what he paid. To my disbelief he paid just $500 more then I did brand new right off of the show room floor. Needless to say I was floored.
This made me start to wonder? How much can a dealer really take off of the sticker price???? I have the original sticker of my truck, its marked at $39,950. So this guy got a total of 15K off of the sticker. Now I know that was employee pricing, but going on that knowledge I now know there has got to be plenty of room to negotiate. So the next time a sales person tells you there is nothing he can do, that the price marked is rock bottom. TELL HIM TO SCREW!!!!!
Getting back to the best deal ever. I'd like to hear from all you bloggers out there what the best deal is any of you ever got on a brand new vechicle. Lets hear it: Year, Make, Model, Sticker, Final $$
