Speedo Calibration

Post by DaleHeller »

Has anyone had any luck with resetting the speedo on larger tires? I have the u7193 in an 05 with 20" wheels and it seems to have raised the mph 5-6 miles higher than it should (seat of the pants) and 6-7 miles higher than a top end gps is recording (level road, constant throttle, high gps sample rate).

Does this have to be 'dialed in' or should it be correct with the gearing, tire size, etc entered on the Diablo?

My GPS reads 2 MPH faster than my speedo, and my speedo is accurate by timing and mileage.

With the right tire size and gearing in the Predator, your speedometer should be accurate.

Which software revision do you have on your Predator?

If at first you don't succeed, try a little different tire size. Although in my experience the computer in my truck just would not accept any changes and I kept getting an ABS error code. Both Diablo and the dealer that sold me the Predator have "never seen that before" I guess I've always been kind of a leader and never liked to follow :)

When I did put the correct tire size in, the speedo did read bang on, both indicated and GPS, just the darn ABS code.
