Intune Problems

Post by MrBliek »

I've had the Diablosport intune i-1000 installed on my truck for about 9 months now and just yesterday I had problems with my Transmission. I had it towed to the shop to find out that I no longer had 3rd or 4th gear anymore. I didn't mess with any of the tunes, I only loaded the tune I needed and went from there (93 Octane K&N). I know that the tune itself changes the shift points and the shift firmness and that its a possibility that the programmer could damage the transmission in that way. I guess what I am trying to get at is what does y'all's warranty cover?

there is no warranty on the vehicle....

you didn't say what vehicle this was, so its tough to answer your questions, but we dont change shift points in any tunes, and if anything we may add a little pressure, which actually increases the life of an auto trans.

You can look all over the internet, you will not find this to be an issue common to our tuners, or any tuners from what I have seen.

Thanks

It's a 2007 F150 5.4L. So the 93 Octane Tune doesn't change the "original" shift points from the original stock tune?

No, not at all.

We have an 04 F150, that has lived through a Procharger and a FRPP blower kit, and while the stock connecting rods gave up many moons ago, the stock trans is still there.

That means it lived through our initial tune development, then lived as a loaner truck, then got a procharger bolted on, lived through tune development there, then got a different blower, then lived through tune development for that kit, then got loaned out to more customers, with the blower, then the blower came off, and it served another 5-6 years naturally aspirated, still being loaned out to anyone we needed to give it to (i.e, abused :))
Oh yeah, its a 4x4 as well.

I may speak about it in past tense, since I am so ready to see it get traded in on an ecoboost, but, the truck is still parked out back, and the trans is still working like a champ ;)
