Straight answer on the ESP disable

Post by billfromislip »

Could someone please give me a straight answer on the ESP disable feature of the DCX? You advertise that it will allow me to disable the ESP and subsequently the ABS, but after multiple attempts and several re flashes of the different "canned" tunes that come with the DCX, the traction control on my 2014 R/T 100th anniversary Charger will not turn off - the tuner gives me an error every time.
Is this a known issue? Will you be fixing this issue so that it works? If not, you need to update you website and product claims so that other people aren't mislead onto purchasing your product. It's false advertising.

If it never worked, we certainly would not advertise it as working.
It seems there may be a specific issue with the function as relating to your specific calibration, which is something we can look into.
Please post the vehicles calibration ID.

Thanks

Where can I find that. Is it in this info.xml file?

Not sure if that was the right file I attached, but here is the calibration id off the intune vehicle info screen:

Version: 1r03y
Calid: 68212708AD
(next) 05150913ACke480
Vin: 2C3CDXCT5EH277721

Boot: 19.7800
Tune DB: DCX 1r01o

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Any updates? I was wondering if it would be possible to extract the traction control programming code from a vehicle with the road and track option that allows the traction control disable by holding the button and incorperate that into a custom tune that can be flashed with the DCX. I realize this would be considered a custom tune, and if it is possible, i would be willing to pay for it. Is This something that you can do? Or could you point me in the right direction to contact someone who could make this happen?
Thanks

Straight answer on the ESP disable (UPDATE)

Post by billfromislip »

So I updated the DCX to the latest firmware - 1r04b and the latest tune package - 1r01p over the weekend and figured I would give the ESP disable a try. I reset all the parameters on my current 91 octane tune, loaded the 93 octane diablotune. Then I reset the trans adapts, set shift firmness to hard, disabled the MDS and speed limiter, raised the rev limiter and throttle boost. Everything worked fine. Lastly, I tried to disable traction control and....same problem - I get a 10% progress bar and then an error.

I've attached my latest info.xml and a screen shot of the latest tune info from the DCX screen.

I hope this helps.
