No Backups Are Stored

Post by jtpowers72 »

I'll try to keep this as simple and short as possible. I purchased an inTune Friday at a local DiabloSport authorized dealer. I brought it home and put the 87 Octane tune on my 2005 Silverado without any issues. I could definitely tell a difference, and I instantly fell in love. I liked it so much that I was telling my best friend that we should see what it would do on his diesel (2002 Silverado HD). The website said it was supported, so we gave it a whirl. The first time we tried to load a tune, it said the PCM was unknown. We tried again and everything went through without an issue. The difference in his truck after the tune was remarkable to say the least. I can almost guarantee you'll have another customer. With all that being said, here is where the trouble starts. We tried to restore his truck back to stock so I can load a tune back on my truck. However, when we try to restore the backup, we keep getting the message "No Backups are Stored for....VIN#". Why would this happen? The inTune is completely up to date, as that was the first thing we tried. How can we restore his truck back to stock so I can use my tuner again? I've attached the tunes available when I hook it up to the computer.

it looks like it was last plugged into the 05 truck, which its not marred to, it is married to the 02 truck.

That's correct. When plugged it into the 02 Silverado (the one it is currently married to), and it wouldn't let us restore the backup. We kept getting the message "no backups are stored". The weird thing that got me was that once we clicked on the Tune Vehicle, the Adjust Parameters was locked out as if the stock tune was loaded. Since the adjust parameters was locked out, I went ahead and tried it on my truck. That's why it was last hooked up on the 05 Silverado. What do you need from me to diagnose the problem?
