2011 V6 Mustang Steeda CAI: HELP!
2011 V6 Mustang Steeda CAI: HELP!
I recently purchased a Steeda CAI for my 2011 v6 Mustang and need help adjusting the MAF curve. Before purchasing the Steeda, I called the DS tech line and was told that the tuner could handle the adjustments and that you guys could help. I called back today and I get told, for liability reasons, that no help can be given on tuning or answering tuning questions. This is a serious problem for me. What I need to know is, what should I be looking for as ideal or acceptable levels for the short term and long term fuel trims, what should I be looking for as ideal and acceptable commanded lambda values, and how much should I be increasing the MAF curve values by? Currently I have the MAF curve value set to 18 and the car seems to be running well, but I need more guidance. I'm really a bit nervous about this, as I cannot afford to replace the engine if this causes serious problems. I also have datalogs for the 18 MAF curve if that helps. If at all possible could you guys make a custom tune for this? I noticed there are a few others with this same problem. This same topic came up on this thread http://66.132.150.105/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=47337. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!

I also modified the tune to have an MAF curve of 19. Here are the logs for that. I don't know if this is better than the other, but should give you an idea of which way I should be taking this. Thanks again for your help!

Re: 2011 V6 Mustang Steeda CAI: HELP!
Take 10 back out as in set the MAF curve to 8/9? When I first installed the CAI I set the MAF curve to 8 and the rpms would drop and spike along with noticeable engine knocking. The engine knocking was noticeable at 14 as well but much less so. At 16 the engine knocking was gone, but the fuel trims were still off. From what I read on the other post regarding this specific intake, which is a substantially larger housing than the stock intake, the tech guy said 16 would be a good start. As a side note, based off the logs, does it seem like I'm damaging the engine or is it running ok?
From the previous thread: "I measured the stock MAF housing a few times. With the snap gauge I did my best to center it, tighten it up, and check for play moving it around. I then measured the snap gauge with my zero'd dial caliper. I came up with a range over three measurements from 2.908" to 2.910". That translates to 73.86mm and up to 73.91mm rounded to the nearest hundredth.
The Steeda CAI for the 3.7 Mustang is an "as measured by same tools" 86.6mm housing. I just tell people it's an 86mm because it's a common MAF size. The stock is close enough to say it's a 74mm.
So is it a possibility to offer a canned Steeda CAI tune for the 3.7 Mustangs like the GT's get canned CAI tunes? It's the only tune required CAI for the 3.7 Mustang."

Doh. Add 10 more. Sorry must have gotten distracted.

So set the MAF curve to 28? And did you get to look at the logs at all?
Re: 2011 V6 Mustang Steeda CAI: HELP!
I looked at the second one. Yes add 10, so 29.
