Need to know ASAP!!! Dealership's issue with ABS Light.

Post by BlackOverlandHemi »

Jeep is still at the dealership and they said the ABS error code was from tires to big and there was no reason to clear it because it would come right back on soon soon as i drive it. I know if I want to calibrate the tire size with the trinity it will throw the ABS light again anyway. Should I try to get them to clear it and hopefully the trinity will have a fix hopefully with in a few years?

Asked them to clear it and they worked with it for over two hours, clearing it multiple times and even put factory size tires on and it would come right back on before they could get out of the parking lot to test drive it. Said unless I went back to factory size tires, which I'm not throwing away $1200 tires, I'm going to have that abs light. Since I can't tell them it wasn't the tires it was a tuner that through the ABS light they cant do anything but what they already tried. So it seems like the trinity's bug really f'ed the computer module and actually replacing it would be the only way to clear it... unless the trinity can undo what it did.
 I REALLY HATE THAT ABS LIGHT

reconfiguring the ABS module will set it off, if it comes back on, there is another issue somewhere, not related to the tool.

What do you feel is the best approach to get them to look at it further? My factory warranty runs out next Friday and I never had the ABS light until I used the trinity. I do have my factory tires but it's usually $20 a tire to change them. So I'd be looking at $160 to have them taken off and put back on later. Then I'm a at the point where if I use the trinity again I'm guessing nothing has changed so it would throw the light again. Unless you've heard from the techs that they almost have a fix, I'd be looking into buying something else to fix the speedo. If I do have to pay for tire changes and they find out that the tuner could be at fault would you refund the cost?

Talked to dealership just now and they say the ABS light only shows an error of wrong tire size. So only way to see if the light clears is to have the stock tires put back on the rims. They think I'm crazy to pay 160 for doing this. In the past what have you done with other people having the same issue? Has dealerships just cleared it and it didn't pop back up? I'm on the fence whether or not to do this. If I do I take my tires tomorrow morning. What's your advise? Need to know ASAP!

Yes, anyone who has had this issue was a quick reconfig at the dealer away from it being gone forever.

Had stock tires put on and they said the ABS light has gone away and hasn't come back. I pick my jeep up tomorrow and I'm told them to leave the factories on for a little to make sure it doesn't come back. So if he wasn't for your bug in the trinity that caused the my abs light i would have not had to throw away 160 that i could really use, while I'm also hoping they don't charge me for the ABS light that they say was only caused because of my tires not a warranty issue. Are you looking into refunding my expenses because what the trinity did to my car?
