I purchased a new U7170 with the 8r05 ,the dealer used the 85 hP setting, I did not like the powerband, acceleration off idle was too abrupt,neck braker for passengers....today I changed to 60hp perf.economy, the power is good even better so far but the shifts are way to hard!!!
I don't know if I need to wait for any "learning time" or if that's how it's suppose to be...if it is then it is horrible!
Not only it shifts too hard but when on the pedal a little harder it shifts up and down kind of...........weird to say the least and very uncomfotable.
Any help? Any Ideas? I saw a KAM clearing option, what is that memory thing and what if cleared?
Is there a custom tune for the tranny separate?

Why would anybody charge 400 bucks or more for something that will make your truck not start? None of the tunes really work good, they all have glitches and it seems to me that Ford has the best one, the stock one.
Yes it is slow but your truck will last forever and you can use the money for fuel/air filter,better muffler/better anything, just don't use it to fatten the company's bank account (Diablo's that is).

I am new in the diesel perf. world, always had supercharged or turbo gas engines, local diesel performance shop that used to do all the work on my gas cars and now they specialized in diesel truck perf, anyway, they fooled me into buying this crap. Sorry guys, but until this thing does what it's suppose too and it is proven by hundreds of happy customers, I will continue calling it crap.
Major crap, fancy crap, expensive crap, eletronic device crap, but at the end it is simply a crappy piece of crap.
OH, and please don't ask me what my calid is because that is just another way of trying to fix this crap, and the only way to fix crap is to flush it down the toilet.

The 60 hp and the 100 hp would make the truck not start or idle super bad immediately after installed when engine cold and if installled when engine hot it would make it run "weird" and the shiftings horrible. After stopping and engine colled down truck would either not start or idle erraticaly to the point of shutting down by itself.
Either way, cold or hot both tunes would run like crap.
The 85 hp was the best of the worst but still not very good.
bought the superchips instead, it has been good so far.

Have Phil send you the new crom file for the 7.3 The 8r gave plenty of trouble, 16% drop in fuel economy, 100hp tune. New file 60 hp still same fuel loss but shifts better.
30 Money back if not happy, it's in the manual. Authorized dealer said go F*** yourself and get out of my store. Diablo sales staff great took care of problem. Still waiting on dealer?
