predator u7198- po420 & po430 codes

Post by mongo53 »

2002 chevy silverado 4wheel drive, 4.8 liter, automatic.
i have the predator u7198 i am very pleased with it so far. i am building a truck that is just for putting in the mud. just finished the suspension, its running 37in tires. the engine, and electroics are all factory. i just installed a new 3in exhaust with a 40 series flowmaster "no cats" i was under the impression i could do it and disable the codes the come from the cats. it really mad a big differance with its power in the mud spinning the big tires. but now it is giving me a po420 & po430 code. how can i tune the out or what are my options? please help!!!

The Predator has the ability to disable the rear O2 sensors and eliminate these codes. Use the modified parameters menu in the Predator to access the OBDII parameters. You'll see an option to turn off the HO2S (heated oxygen sensors). Set these to off and reinstall the tune. If you still have these codes, post here or call the office at 561-908-0040 x1, M-F 9-5 est.

I have turned off the codes that is listed under obd-ll o2 sensors such as, bank 1 po136, 137, 138, 140, 141, 146, 147 & bank 2 po156, 157, 158, 160, 161. that is working great far as i can tell, but there isnt the option to turn off po0420, po0430. they also are for the cats according to the gm code manual.the o2 sensors are installed in the same place they were from the factory, need help with the po0420 & po0430. please help thanks!!

Do you have the option listed as HO2S? If so set this to 'off' to disable the rear O2 sensors, this will eliminate the P0420 and P0430 codes.

I should have asked this first, what is the software revision on this tool? You'll see it on the top line of the main screen once the tool is booted up. Let me know.

I'll look into this first thing in the AM. I'm sure we can fix it with a custom tune. Please email me a copy of your trucks original backup and we'll modify it for you and send it back out as a new custom tune.
Send it to [email protected] and include a complete list of mods so we can optimize the tune for you.

Thanks

I have not had a chance to discuss this with my GM tuner yet. Either way, I'd like a copy of your backup. There's a few steps involved, and I'm no good at typing.....any chance you'll give me a call here at the office, 561-908-0040? Ask for me, and I'll gladly explain the process of saving your backup file and emailing it to me.

Thanks
