Ok, I purchased a DCX secondhand from a seller with a 13 Ram hemi 6speed.
I have a 14 Ram hemi 8speed.
It had custom tunes in which I had to erase. I wanted to just do a basic canned tune for now anyways. Plugged it up to the truck and got a need update message. I updated it from the update links in the thread here . It did the 1r03y first. Then I tried again and it went ahead and updated to the 1r04d.
I was under the impression, this is the latest update and version which would have no problem with a 14 Ram. I do understand no 8speed support yet. I'm ok with that. But I want to do a canned tune and later get a custom tune.
Today I get a error message stating I my VIN along with it needs a internet update. I thought that's what I did prior............????
For reference, the DCX shows 6-4-14 born date, serial number, License 0/1, Diablo DCX and the firmware as1r034y, + DCX 1r01s and the PIDs list.
What am I missing?

Re: Ram 1500 / DCX problem
plug it into a pc and let it get the requested vehicle update then load that to the truck, then you will be able to load a canned tune.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Ram 1500 / DCX problem
its not asking you to update the tool like you did before, its asking for an update specific to the vehicle.
Thanks

Re: Ram 1500 / DCX problem
Hmm ok.Well when I plug it into my pc it ask to open drive e but also sees drive f. One is a basic folder content and the other has program files as well as the In Tune icon. Open the In Tune icon. Open thatt, and it has a top menu. But automatically starts to connect to update. Last two times that's what it did on its own.....and as stated above, the two consecutive updates were done.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Ram 1500 / DCX problem
Got it.
However on my first try at tuning, it locked for a long time at 84% during the first step backup. The spinning 'working' icon stopped. Trying to be sure the plugs were tight, I accidentally disconnected it. Thought I messed up. But started over and all was fine.
Loaded the 91 tune yesterday and all seems fine.
