There is no *Best* setting. You have to log and see what the truck is doing and then go from there. Each vehicle is different and will act differently depending on location, gas, tolerances, and other variables. If there was such a thing as a best setting for all vehicles, it would be the tune that was in the tuner.

I understand it may vary with minor details but I'm sure there are certain common changes to make that make it faster.

Nope. Anything that would be common is already in the tune. Fill up with 93 octane, put on the Diablo Tune and go.

My 2012 Ram r/t has responded well to my aftermarket add ons useing my Bully dog hemi plus tuner, from the show room flow it ran 14.4 @ 93mph, my best time now is 13.4 @ 96mph, I can't wait to install the Trinity when it comes in Monday, I will be saleing the Bully Dog. My add ons are a Vararam intake, 87mm ported throttle body, 180 stat, BBK headers, and Borlas exhaust.

Well got the trinty in the other day and it has been a little disappointing so far, my best times with my Bully dog were 13.4@96mph in 35 degree weather, 13.6@94mph in 55 degree weather, and 13.8@93mph in 60-65 degree weather. After installing the Trinity and figuring things out I decided to take her out for a run in 65 degree weather, I ran a [email protected], (OMG?). I made a few adjustments to the throttle, timing, shift points, and fuel and ran a [email protected], and a [email protected] the next day. I ran those times stock? better with the Bullydog, something needs to give fast because if this is what I have to look forward to I will reinstall my Bullydog. I know their are custom tunes for it but so far just pulling the two out of the box and installing them, the bully dog has out performed the trinity. Diablo family I need your help, I expected more.

93 modified tune, 93 octane fuel with a bottle of Noz race fuel, Vararam intake, 87mm ported throttle body, BBk shorty headers, Borla exhaust, 4:10 gears, 180 stat.

I have had the Bully Dog for about a year, recorded the times from there, I also used the Trinity to log my times, some using the tree, some using the motion starts. The one time I did go to the track in Baton Rouge, LA, I ran a 13.6@95mph, so I know the Bully Dog is close. I expected to at least see some of the same numbers, maybe better, but the Trinity numbers are a disappointment at the moment. The Bully dog is just a plug and play tuner, only allowing you to change shift point, tire size, remove rev limiter, speed limiter, and monitor gauges. I ordered the Trinity because it seems to be more advanced, which is why I chose it over the SCT X4. I will be very disappointed if I have to get a custom tune just to get it to work right for a tune that was setup to run in my vehicle out the box, I would think you guys had everything dialed in.

Also, I have been monitoring parameters using the trinity to try and figure out where and why Im losing power. Base and advanced spark, knt retard, I don't have an AFR gauge, but should be able to get a reading through the ignition choices in the trinity, it has a lot of choices for 02 sensor reading but I don't know which one to chose. Once I get this problem solve I will then move on to a custom tune by Hemi forever, but it will be a more agressive race to, so I want to keep my 93 octane tune for daily driving. With your help I know we will be able to figure this out.

Trinity's often read slower ET then it would run at the track.

Also the 93 canned tune is ok at best.

I can tune your truck if you like, have tuned many 2012's one of which ran a 12.74 in the 1/4 NA

Sean built me a 93 octane custom tune, installed it last night, night and day from the 93 octane tune from diablo. I still think there may be more on the table though, something a little more aggressive. He did a great job, Im glad I chose the diablo trinty, lot's of fun, plenty of power. Thanks Sean at Hemifever, and Diablo for working together to get the most out of my truck.
