Can't install tune - PCM cal required but inTune up to date

Post by MxRacer965 »

Hello,

Hoping to get some help with a problem I'm having. I've been trying to call tech support but as soon as I try to transfer over I get "One moment please" and then silence....

I bought an inTune DCX for my 2011 Grand Cherokee 5.7 a year ago and a tune from hemifevertuning.com. I've been running the custom tune and have had no problems tuning or restoring my car. I brought my vehicle in for a fuel pump relay recall yesterday and apparently the dealer also decided to flash my PCM. I tried to install my tune again and I got a message stating a PCM calibration was needed and that I should update via the internet. I connected to a PC and updated. When I try to install my tune I get the same message telling me I need a PCM calibration. I plug back into the PC but my inTune is up to date. I also try restoring and I get the same PCM calibration message. What gives? Would love some help with this from someone so I can get my tune back in! My Jeep shifts terrible without the tune!

it sounds as if you didn't restore the backup before going to the dealer?
post the info.xml file here please.

No, it only went in for a relay. Unfortunately they decided to to a "courtesy flash".

I was able to get through to tech support. I just left the phone off the hook for a few minutes hoping someone would pick up. Fortunately that is what happened. I got the low down on the situation, and got it resolved. Now I know better, never let the dealer do a darn thing to the vehicle without restoring the stock tune!

Thanks for the quick reply.

fax or email us proof of the dealer service then call with the tool powered up and we'll reset it for you.

the same thing happened to me but the dealer wasnt suppose to touch the pcm, i took it in for a simple check.
they lost my keys, so they programmed a temporary one till they order my new key, my diablo tune is still on the car tho i can see mds is disable. now it keeps asking for calibration. is it possible to restore my original backup on it? i have the original backup on the computer and on the diablo tuner but cant get past the calibration thing.

please help me i want to restore my stock tune because they will take it back in a few days for a grill replacement and to program my new key

i heard many stories of people here getting there warranty voided because thy got caught.
