'11 Ecoboost F150 problems after returning to stock.

Post by johnny248 »

Installed the 87 performance tune on a '11 F150 EcoBoost. After restoring the factory tune, the trans is shifting hard and the factory remote start is no longer working.

Any suggestions?

I can assure you when you return to stock it goes right back to a factory cal.

So let's take it form the top. What revision is on the tool? Got to options - show version

Also any check engine light and/or codes? Check fr codes as there can be some that are not turning on the light. If so reset them and the remote start will come back. Remote start doesn't work with any pending or stored codes.

Did the tool ever do a calibration update? (The really long one, not just downloading the factory backup)

Do you happen to have the tunes that were loaded to the vehicle at any point?

Also get me the boxcode from the label on the pcm should be like VEX2. You can just pop the cover off the top where the pcm is real easy.

OK. I don't it in front of me at the moment, but it went like this.

Last Saturday , connected to the downloaded and updated to the latest crom.

Plugged it in for 87 performance. It then downloaded or backed something up that took about an hour.

Completed tune, everything worked.

Went back to restore, completed.

Remote start will not work , shifting hard. Scanned for codes with the Trinity, none present.

I read somewhere that the KAM needs to be reset to relearn the shift adapt.

I will try to get the numbers from everything and post those up.
