Thanks
I was aware of the 30 day guarantee. That was never an issue until Lew became. I was stuck in a crappy position. Lew didnt have a fair chance to hold up his end of the deal because he was ill. I didnt feel right going after him when he never had the chance to prove me wrong. I never made an issue out of it until i was told i could no longer return it for a refund. After some back-and-forth and filing a complaint with PayPal, Lew DID finally agree to a refund. In spite of all that drama, I still felt obligated to give Lew a fair shake at this. After all, he was truly out of commission for quite some time. I didnt expect him to make me a priority when he had more important concerns. By the time he was back to health, i had ran through alk the canned tunes. I was actually showing a friend at work how the tuner worked when it crashed and left me stranded for a few days. After dealing with that mess, I'm scared to even plug it into my computer much less try to tune my truck again. I do believe somewhere in the mix Lew or someone asked to see a log of my vehicle. When i tried to run the log, it would say the file was corrupt. So once again, I was left with even less hope that the tuner would ever work as advertised.

Go take a few minutes and read whats on the website. Pretend you're an average joe like myself and many others. How would you interpret the information on the website. Read the testimonials as well. After i read through it a for a few weeks and even sent some emails to Lew directly, i was sold. But in the end, none of what's advertised ever came to fruition.

Lew- I just want you to know that I was in no way trying to single you out or call you out. I was aware of your situation and knew you werent able to do much. I followed you through many online forums and could you were helpful and honest with everyone. Please dont take any of my comments regarding you in a negative light. I hope your health issues have cleared up and you're back on track.

I hear ya, and no problem man, I totally understand and appreciate it... Yeah, and I actually went back in the hospital at the end of november for another surgery, but everything is fine and on the mend now, doing well... thank you...

Like I said, if you send me an email with your paypal email address/account, I'll be happy to send payment for the unused custom tuning, not a problem...

Sorry to hear you had to go back in. I appreciate the offer of the refund. At the moment, I'm still hoping to get some real answers about the tuner.

Quoted from the website in reference to the Diablo tune from the Intune device:

This tune is designed for use with premium fuel. The Performance Tune (or ?Diablo Tune? as it?s called in some vehicles) will unleash the maximum available Horsepower, Torque and Economy out of your stock vehicle with no other mods necessary! Vehicles will see a power across the entire RPM range with the greatest gains down low. Vehicle will also see improvements in drivability, throttle response, and economy.

For my vehicle specifically, it says 25 HP and 25 TQ. Im not an expert by far but I think I would have noticed those gains. So, aside from the initial $400, I'm now spending an extra $.50 per gallon on gas (for 93 octane Exxon fuel) and seem to be burning through the gas much faster. Im now back to stock assuming thats what we installed when my intune crashed and left my truck out of commission.

So what happened? Why didn't this thing unleash the beast? Why did it crash? I'm not trying to bust anyones balls here. but as the consumer, I feel that I'm owed an explanation (other than fuel qualities). If I sell you a new furnace and tell you its going to heat your home better and cost less to operate and it doesnt, I'm sure you're going to want to know why it didnt meet your expectations.

There are many factors at play.
Fuel quality, atmospheric conditions, elevation, and the vehicles specific configuration and health.

We have literally 1000's, and 1000's of super happy, very satisfied GM truck customers who have noticed everything we advertise and then some.
If you dig through the forums you'll find people with bone stock vehicles complaining about things that nobody else with the same vehicle has a problem with, in a case like that, its easy to see how its possible that a tune that works on 1000s of different vehicles might not be ideal for one. Its rare, but not impossible.

We always expect there to be some gains from the canned tunes, and if you look around here, our GM tuner is more than willing to go over tunes and review logs to ensure that our product is performing in the field the way we expect it to.
Feel free to load a tune and post the files and a log here and we will check it out for sure.

Thanks

Like I said, I'm not trying to troll or piggy-bag the OP here. I had a huge concern when it came to towing my camper. I was hoping to get a little extra boost with a tuner as opposed to dropping $2k into a new front and rear diff. I literally read the 1000 and 1000's of reviews and was sold. Emailed with Lew was even more sold on the product. This is why I'm so upset. I tried running logs for someone and they wouldnt record right or something. Always said the file was corrupt. Then the thing crashed and my car wouldnt start for 2 days. Its kind of hard to manage 3 kids playing sports getting them to school and myself to work without a car. When these issues arose, no one seemed to have any answers except the fuel aspect. No one had an answer for my the tuner crashing. How do I know it wont crash again? A local GM dealer said they could reprogram the PCM for $150 but why should I have to deal with that? And thinking back, I believe I downloaded a tune from someone on this forum and thats when my thing crashed. I'll look back and see if I can find it.

So with the 1000's and 1000's of positive feedback, why do you have 2 guys complaining of the a similar issue with different vehicles? Im in the Baltimore metro area if that helps with possible underlying conditions. I want this thing to work more than you want it to work. Im looking for answers. I want to be one of those 1000's of 1000's happy customers.

if you downloaded someone elses tune file, that could explain things, why it got messed up.. because tune files are tied/locked to a vehicle's VIN number and engine calibration ID's, and can not be used on any other vehicle except for the one that it was made for, from that vehicles original backup.. so if you tried installing someone elses tune file, or an update made for someone elses intune, yeah that could definitely have messed things up...

Follow this thread. This is where it all happened. Theres a couple log files that I was able to take without them corrupting, a long with Zach offered up to me. I see that the last few logs were downloaded 23 times but no one ever responded after that.

Ok, just plugged in my Intune to see if there were any other logs on it. The screen went white, the updating screen never came up on computer. I am able to see the files on it and will upload them for your viewing pleasure. This is the 2nd time this thing has had the white screen. This is the first time I've plugged it in since it crashed back in August 2014, and the pic below looks identical to the how it looked the last time when it broke.

just looked at 'em.. yes those are the diablosport preset tunes you installed..

as for the info file, it LOOKS up to date to me, but I'm not sure what the latest revision update numbers are, so not sure if it actually is up to date or not.. mikel can confirm...

as for the screen thing, no idea.. I can't do anything about that.. that's a mikel/diablosport issue...

Follow that link in my post above the tunes and there are some logs in that thread as well as what someone else left as a tweak on a tune. Are the logs good or corrupt?

I'm in no way associated with DS or any retailer. I simply did a TON of research and came up with the InTune as the best out there. I probably set my expectations too high, but I am THOROUGHLY pleased and performance is actually GREATER than I expected.

I have a 2002 Silverado 1500HD with the 6.0/4L80E. Pre-tune, I was unable to break the tires loose, either power braking or just romping on the throttle from a standing start. I was also getting ~8MPG. The only modifications I made pre-tune was a CAI and 255/85/16 tires.

I installed the InTune and I chose to remove all Torque Management, 93 tune, and I adjusted the tire ratio...

Using BP, Shell or Speedway 93 octane fuel, I notice an INCREDIBLE performance difference. I gained almost a second in the quarter (probably came from the removal of the TM...) and throttle response is WAY improved. With the 93 tune I gained just over 1 MPG and seat of the pants feel is MUCH greater. It's really fun to keep up with many of the 4cyl "performance" cars... I mean the truck does weigh over 7000 pounds!!!

On the 87 tune, I still get the throttle response and a better 1/4 time (.3-.4 sec) but my fuel economy goes up to 10.3-10.5 MPG...

The fuel economy figures are done manually and are logged every fill up.

Now I am in no way suggesting that my results are going to be able to be reproduced in yours or anyone else's vehicle, but I believe in the InTune. DiabloSport CS was VERY helpful when I first got my InTune and had me up and running ASAP. BTW, the problem I had, I created by not waiting long enough to update fully :normal:

OP, I understand your frustration. Please let them look at the logs. It's a lot of money to have no noticeable gains, but given the chance, I know they WANT to make you happy. And DS maybe the OP should talk to someone new. I'm not suggesting that the rep did anything wrong, but unfortunately it seems that ego has overridden reason between these two and a fresh mind with no preconceived notions or feelings might serve both parties, better.

I come with the understanding that I was a supervisor of a CS/Tech Support team for a major wireless company so I know a little bit about dealing with customers on the phone
