I live in Denver so my everyday drive is at 5280ft and if I go for a drive in the twisties its 6000 to 8000ft above sea level. 93 octane isn't at the pumps here because we don't have the oxygen to burn it. My question is, what map would work better, the 91 or 93 octane map, given the altitude? When I used to ride motorcycles I would tune my power commander to 93 octane but the fuel injection on a motorcycle (the ones I've had) is much more basic.
Thank you

Re: Altitude?
BUMP. I too live at altitude (actually I'm in the 6000 to 8000ft he mentioned). I had a custom tune on my f150 here (colorado springs) and was told by the writer that 85 was ok to run on a 87 performance tune but 87 felt better to me. 85 worked fine but felt sluggish compared to 87. I would say try it out and if it's not to your liking, lower the tune to a different octane because it should be fine putting higher octane.

Re: Altitude?
in theory lower octane will work at altitude, but you'll always see best power when using the highest octane available.

Re: Altitude?
Bought an intune and am running the 91 tune with 91 octane. I am not impressed so far. I felt triple the power difference on my V6 f150 than this and it was an 87 tune. I barely feel a difference in this. It sounds different but that's about it. My f150 tune I was told added about 10 to 15hp on my truck by the writer of the tune. I am supposed getting 25 ish and I only feel a slight difference. I did notice it takes more pedal to downshift into 2nd or 1st than it did stock, seems to be about the same power as it was. I got mine from hemifever but am going to try the 87 tune to see if it's any better. If it feels better, I'm staying with it and sending to hemifever for tweaking. I ran it with a 5% throttle booster too. Don't know if I need to do more or what but so far I'm not impressed. I am allowing it time to adjust, drove about 150 miles the day I tuned it too. I have to put it back to stock for warranty work for paint but don't need them to do an update while it's tuned. Also it takes freaking forever to tune, isn't clear about what step it's on either. Says stage 1 but doesn't tell you out of how many stages (there was 2) and then when you think it's close to being done, it says it's tuning the truck...took about a half hour. I get that there is more stuff than my f150 had in it but that took 10 to 15 mins. These dual processors seem to do absolutely nothing to do with speed. I know my ram weighs about 600 lbs more than my f150 but I should be feeling a difference even if it's close to my f150 but not quite...that's understandable. My f150 was 2wd, V6, 5spd, 4364lbs, 3.55 axle. Ram is 4wd, V8, 6spd auto, 5000 lbs+, 3.21 axle.

Re: Altitude?
I'm gonna try gas from a different gas station to see if that helps too.
