2013 GT500 P0315

Post by mrl859 »

Took the vehicle in for a clutch concern. The vehicle had the canned 91 octane tune which was modified for 3.73 gears and tire difference. The dealer replaced the clutch and during/after the check engine light came on with a hard code of P0315. They were not able to clear/reset it. I loaded the original tune and the light remains on with the P0315. I see on the 'net that this is not an uncommon concern. Solutions/recommendations? BTW, the car runs fine.

Need to have the case relearn done. Anytime they mess with the clutch this needs to be done. Surprised it doesn't give you a bunch of misfire codes. Normally does.

PCM can have stock or modified tune in it to do this. Best case is to take it to then with original backup restored and then tune after you get it back. The procedure takes literally two minutes.

If you're local stop by and I'll do it for you np.

As you're in Florida and I'm in California, dropping by probably isn't going to work. The dealer is about half an hour away and open the same hours I work. To avoid dropping it off after hours for the next day, is there anything I can accomplish with my Trinity or any other secret handshake/dance step I can do?

BTW, the dealer tried that, with the aforementioned tune loaded, and it wouldn't reset.

There's nothing in the tune that would affect the cam and crank trigger relearn. I can guarantee you that.

I'm sure they're just playing the common dealership games.

Trust me, they're not. The shop foreman has been a personal friend of mine since I worked there in 1980. I was not saying the tune caused it. I was just wondering if the tune prevented it from resetting. Bottom line is: Does the Trinity have the ability to perform this function as an SCT X4 does?

Something to think about adding. I've always liked Diablosport, but the other guys' tuner will do that. I had to buy one to get it done.
