Need suggestions...

Post by waterau »

Hi everyone!

I own a 2013 Chrysler 300 SRT8, located in Australia so its one of those that were fitted a 5 speed auto gear box.

I am looking at buying a diablo sport unit for plug and play tune. But I am not sure which one suits me best.

I have a few questions if anyone could help me please

1. I have heard that the diablo sport unit not just gain additional power on the vehicle but also get a better response on the gear box and fuel efficiency. Does it apply to my vehicle too?

2. I am basically not looking to further tune my vehicle on top of the diablo sport tune. Would the trinity unit be more suitable for me or the intune i1000?

3. Ebay seems to be selling them a bit cheaper, anyone have experience buying from ebay sellers? Would there be any problems or anything I need to pay attention?

4. In Australia the petrol are graded in 91, 95 and 98. Should I be using the 93 tune if I fill 98 petrol?

5. If I have modded the vehicle with a Corsa catback system for my vehicle, how much gain am I likely to get?

Thank you very much in advance for answering my questions.

1. Yes
2. inTune DCX should be fine if exports are supported.
3. You have no warranty if you don't buy from a distributor for at least the Minimum Resale Price.
4. Your gas is rated in RON, ours in AKI. Not the same thing. Read my write up on this subject http://www.diablosport.com/forum/viewto ... 10&t=42804
5. Minimal. The catback isn't the restriction, the manifolds are.

Thanks Mike for the input! So since AKI is 4-5 lower than RON, the 98 fuel I have locally looks good enough for the 93 tune?

Thanks

Hi Mikel

Would you be able to confirm exactly that my car 2013 Chrysler 300 SRT8 export 5 speed transmission model is supported by the i1000 dcx (with a tune available of course)?

And if theres different models in the i1000dcx that I need to be aware of so I can make sure I get the right one? (I am aware of the i1000 NON dcx ones)

And as mentioned above by Mike that the gain on power is minimal. Do I get a better response on the gear box apart from the little power gain too?

Thank you very much in advance!

you need an I-1000-DCX, it is supported.

The trans wakes up nicely with the tunes, yes.

When I said minimal power gain, I meant from the cat-back itself. The tune should add a good 15-20hp with the 93 tune on your 98 RON gas.
