Custom tune question with revision update

Custom tune question with revision update
I had a custom tune done at GSM on r16a.
Now I want to upgrade to r20.
I saved the custom tune and the original backup tune from Predator to PC. I noticed the tune number was the same as the original backup....Is this normal...I saved them to different directories (named original backup tune and custom tune).
Will there be any issues with loading a custom tune done under r16a to r20?
Now do I just:
1. Restore the original backup tune to the car.
2. Hook Predator to PC and update to r20.
2a. Will this update remove the custom tune from the Predator?
3. Hook predator to car and let it update the new revision to the PCM...or is this step necessary?
4. Then can I just reload the custom tune from the Predator or
4a. Go back to PC and reload the custom tune to the Predator
4b. Then take the Predator back to the car and load the custom tune.
By the way....where do I find the revision lsit, a list of what fixes or adders were done in each revision?

RE: Custom tune question with revision update
The custom tune export should have your calid and an underscore with custom after it, xxxxxx_custom.drg.
1/correct.
2/correct.
2a/ yes, custom tune will be erased when you restore your original backup.
3/correct, let it take a new backup of your stock file, the 06 should not do a calibration update.
4/yes, after it has taken a new backup you should load custom tune from the pc to the predator then go to vehicle and load it in.
The revision list is on the downloads page for u7135, it has a brief description on what was done in each revision.

RE: Custom tune question with revision update
There was no _custom on the tune I imported.
How do I get the tune from my PCM to the Predator, so I can import to pc? I see a choice of import or export in custom tune section of Predator, is this where I want to be.
I could have sworn that GSM told me they saved the tune...but.
I DO NOT want to loose the custom tune that is presently on my PCM.

RE: Custom tune question with revision update
If there is a custom tune in the Predator, after selecting Performance tune from the main menu, you will see
Diablo Tunes
Custom tunes
Do not see the custom tune option, there is no tune in the Predator.
Maybe have them email the file for you.
BTW, are you sure they made a custom tune with CMR, or did they just change some parameters in the Predator?
That would not show up as a custom tune.
Thanks

RE: Custom tune question with revision update
I have a custom tune selection.
I will hook to pc again and see what I can import from Predator.
What do the Import and Export functions mean on the Predator under "Custom Tune"?

RE: Custom tune question with revision update
If the custom tune was the last thing written to the PCM, hook up to DSDL and select get tune file from Predator.
Then, choose no to upload the last tune written, and save this.
Thanks

Re: RE: Custom tune question with revision update
I went to GS Motorsports a few weeks ago for a tune. And i thought I was actually getting a CMR tune, but all i got was a quick adjustment HMMM. I have looked all over for in my Predator for a custom tune and all i have is regular tune with some adjustment...

I emailed them a little bit a go about this...
johan wrote:Hmmmmmmmm... I would check with GS to make sure.
Today, I had to take my car in for warranty service....so I had to restore my original backup.....perfect time for Predator upgrade.
1. I restored my original backup to the PCM.
2. I took the car in for warranty service.
3. Meanwhile I hooked up my Predator to my computer and uploaded my original backup and my custom tune by GSM from the Predator.
4. I then installed ver. 9r02 and downloaded the custom tune to the Predator.
5. I got the car back from warranty service and hooked up Predator.
6. Downloaded the custom tune and set the "Raised Shift Points" on.
Results...
The car is not as quick as before and does not seem as "torquey" as it was (The GSM dyno tune had increased my HP and TQ by almost 20 over the Predator "Perf CAI 91oct" tune" and torque increase was through the whole RPM band).
I didn't really seem feel the "tip in" increase you had made with r16a, did you take it out with later revisions?
Should I have loaded the "Perf CAI 91oct" Performance Tune then the GSM custom tune? I ask this because in the pc software the tune was shown as "Custom: Perf CAI 91oct".
Were there changes in all the revisions between r16a and 9r02 that would have disbaled the GSM tune parameters?
