I have a few tuning questions regarding the different knock sensors.
Here is what I have: 07 Daytona, CAI, HHP Stage 1 Cam. (Yes, I know I need to get a wide band to adjust the A/F ratio)
1. Is there any documentation on the knock sensors anywhere with respect to tollerances? Because my car is not stock I cannot take a baseline to see what happens to a stock Daytona with respect to the three knock sensors.
2. There are three knock sensors: Fuel Knock Retard, ST Knock Retard and LT Knock Retard. (I read the predator knowledge base by XE_Ryder but need more). When I am data logging what is acceptable on the three knock sensors? I noticed when data logging that the Fuel and ST Knock Sensors under WOT from a 30mph roll hit 3 degrees but the LT sensor does not move from it's zero point. Is this acceptable or do ALL of the knock sensors need to never move from zero. Please give me some useful information so I can perform tuning myself. I am very proficient with computers and feel very comfortable doing the tuning myself on the Dynomometer.
3. When tuning do I dial in the A/F ration first and then work on the spark advance?

You need a CMR tune with a cam. Nothing you can do with the Handheld will allow you to set the parameters correctly.
RE: Tuning Help Knock Sensor Questions
1/ we do not have any documentation for the knock sensors, however looking in the tuning software you can pretty much see how they operate.
2/ You will always see a reading on the knock when you romp on it, once youre at wot you should not see any however, if you see the LT one move you have way too much timing. Unless it is false knock.
3/ Unless you have excessive knock i would dial in the the air/fuel first then the spark, then double check everything as more spark can lean out the a/f.

Ok, so I am very clear on this. It is OK for the ST and Fuel Knock retard to have readings when I stab the throttle, and as log as I NEVER see the LT knock sensor move from it's zero value I'm good? So to tune to the best of my ability; after dialing a/f ration then continue to add timing until I see the LT Knock sensor move then start backing off timing until the LT Knock stays on zero even when I step on it.
Well, you should not see more KR when you romp on it as we do not adjust timing that low in the table. But ideally you could add timing at wot until you see the ST KR read degrees then back it down so it stays at zero.
You never want the LT to register.

Johan, it appears that you had contradicted yourself from you first and second posts. First you stated when you romp on it initially you may see KR momentarily and then in the last post you stated you should not see any on any of the sensors. I am kind of back where I started. Three Sensors. With a "romp" from 30mph, is it ok to see a quick spike in the ST and Fuel Knock sensors as long as it goes away immediatly and nothing shows up on the LT KS? I need to be clear on this so I don't mess anything up. If you could please give me a straigt forward response, it would really help me understand. Sorry for the confusion.
