2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
Hello, I / We have had issues on the shifting on this vehicle for over a year now. I have constantly update the Intune but have no idea if and when the reported trans shift issues were or are fixed as the threads seems to end with no resolution and there is no changelog to review to see if the items have been addressed. Since this is or was an actual vehicle you have can we get a closure? I have posted last written tunes for the ecm and tcm multiple times but the thread goes cold since it seems like the support works on one report at a time.
The throttle bost definitely effects the trans shifting if set above 10%, The actual shifting of the trans is erratic. Light throttle in a constant mode, light normal throttle driving when coasting the adding the same throttle back results in a search and bang, and more aggressive throttle can result in a large bang. Yes, tried torque management on and off.
Going from an 87 octange program to Diablo, results in a no full upload and then recovery, then original, then back to the task of tweaking Diablo. I assume you will be wanting files and the xml file again. The loading after reports eventually gets fixed and then pops up again and we go over the same process again.
Please help and maybe start a changelog for fixes in updates.

Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
Many changes have been made here in the canned tunes, problem is everyone has different gearing, tire size, etc, and that heavily affects the changes from vehicle to vehicle, we fix it for onwe group and it seems to make the next group unhappy.
Only real solution is to remove the throttle boost option, and just set it in the tunes but I dont think anyone would be happy about that either....

Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
What then can I do to correct each of the items posted? These mostly are just normal light driving issues not WOT. Do you guys give up or how can we come to a solution? This issue over times seems to be the top re-reported issue.
I am currently updating the Itune right now. It has a GM update. As an end user, was my problem addressed, what should I try and in what combination if any? We are left peforming a SWAG, (Stupid Wild Ass Guess). Hope you see the end users issues. Most all firmware we deal with and software has an included changelog for the user. Hope this helps the entire reporting process. Please see attached files.

Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
I can see were different tire sizes and swapped rear gears can throw it off if running a oversize aftermarket type tire. These issues shouldn't happen to a factory truck with no modifications like my truck the only thing I've done to it is put traction bars. To help with the so called axle wrap.... Obviously a transmission surge due to a fault in the tune and not axle wrap. My next conclusion would be to ask are yall testing these tunes on factory trucks? With just a mod here n there? CAI and Exhaust? Or testing off a mud truck on 40 inch tires with some crazy 5.13 rear difs. I've always been happy with diablos tunes and service but it seems like yall can't get it right lately. Especially the GM division. I'm sure yall already see the frowning faces here how about the guys turning their heads going with a different competition tuner? I'm sure it's worth yall time (and money) to close in on the issues and come up with a resolution. I hope yall figure it out soon. I'd really like to get a tune back in my truck without fear of dropping my tranny off at a redlight.
Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
My feelings exactly. When a response is given, if any, it addresses maybe one little point them the thread goes dry. These issues have been reported since april of 14. Nobody takes it to conclusion. It is not like this is a one of a kind truck. This is basically a stock 53,000.00 GMC with cat back exhaust. This is a truck they say is their shop truck. FRUSTRATED.

Again and again no responses from tech support. Is anybody really there?

Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
Thanks for the reply but to be blunt, this has been a 14 month reported problem over and over and over. Sorry no sympathy and I don't accept the answer. This is a truck you actually have, again sorry no excuse. This is one of the highest volume of family that might use the Intune. I use mine for the DOD only. Any other use of the features are "at a risk".

Right, but to be fair, our truck runs like a champ with the tunes loaded, so it is something we are still investigating.

Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
If you're still investigating why not take a look at the log files that we have posted multiple times. Wouldn't that help your investigation?
Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
The logs won't show anyrhing... There's no tcm parameters to log so they can't see what the tranny is actually doing... Nor can they feel what is actually happening. I guarantee if they felt it... They would have it fixed... Within a week. They would put someone on it 24/7 because it's downright dangerous. For driver, vehicle, and business standpoint. My question is it just in tune guys having problems? Or trinity as well? How bout the 2015 vehicles with the same setup are they having issues too? We need to find the denominator to help fix the problem. Maybe it's just 4x4 vehicles and not 2wd?
I'll do what I can to help but at this point r I don't know what else to try nor do I want to replace my transmission on my dime. Until then... Good luck n I can't wait to get my tune put back in

Re: 2014 GMC 5.3 Programs
MY truck is a 2014 Silverado 5.3 2WD and is having these same issues even with a custom tune from Lew.
