2008 F 250 7164 tuner

Post by ejofhouston »

I just purchased a 7164 predator tuner. Is it a must to delete my egr and dpf immediately to operate the performance tune? Thanks in advance

Thanks Mike,

Can you elaborate a little as I'm new to diesel modifications, are you recommending not to delete the EGR/DPF? Or are you saying the tune will not function properly with these type of mods?

the truck will not run if you remove the dpf without disabling it in the pcm, which is federally illegal.

I played around with the tuner on my 2008 6.4 powerstroke. No mods other than tuner, the performance tune ran well. I tried extreme for a few mile drive. Plenty of power through 1st and 2nd. Once I hit third rpms dropped to 1000 and wouldn't wind up until I dropped back to second. Trans was also in extreme. Any suggestions? Still have factory intake intact. Plan on upgrading to S&B CAI in a few weeks. Could this issue be due to lack of air? Thanks in advance
