Trinity 1000 general question

Post by juergne »

Hi,
i have a general question relating the original backup:
I saved my original backup on a sdcard.
I installed a trinity tune on my Ram 1500 2012.

Suppose, my trinity breaks down or get lost. Is there any chance to reinstall my original backup, e.g. with a not married ore new trinity?
This means, is it possible to connect a not married trinity to my car, if it is married with another (old) trinity?

Thanks & regards

no..

you can not get the original backup file saved back into the trinity as the "original backup".. if you import it into a trinity, it would be just like importing a custom tune.. it would not get in there as the original backup to where you could "restore" the original backup..

So, the only way would be to buy a new ecu in this case, because no service work or emission testing would be possible with an installed tune, right?

You can have service done. If they flash it, big deal, thats what you wanted anyway if you want to restore the backup. Emissions is iffy. Most cars will pass with a tune installed. They only won't if the rear O2s are turned off.
