Diablo tune

Post by rackhound »

I hooked up the tuner today and was going to load a 93 octane tune for my 2008 5.3 lm7 k1500. Options I had were diablo tune, 83 (might have been 87) tune and I believe one other that I don't remember. I chose diablo tune which loaded then gave me options to modify it of which I only changed to firm shift and turned off DoD and speed limiter. Is the diablo the 93 tune? If not what is it. Plan on looking into the spark ratio, fuel, and well all of those settings as I didn't want to change anything without some knowledge.

thanks....I loaded it and between 3k and almost 6k feels like my truck is about to break loose now....made me a happy guy. only drawback is it feels like I lost low end torque and HP. gave tons of things to adjust I just don't know enough about what does what to feel comfortable changing most of them. Ive read headers, throttle body, CAI, and high performance coils combined with a good exhaust system would give me considerably more torque and horses and help low end power. sucks I already have a set of headers that i didnt get a chance to put on my 93 model that are useless now. so should I just load the diablo tune and not mess with the rest of those options? i adjusted the shift firmness deleted the dod and speed limiter. have an after market exaust that came with the truck but plan to do the above mentioned upgrades before paying for a custon tune. in the meantime is there anything I can change to get back some if not all of my low end power back? thanks in advance for any info i get.

you shouldnt be loosing low end power. you could try going into the adjustable perimeters and adding a degree or two of timing down low. see if it helps. just listen closly and make sure you are not getting any knock (detonation) you could also log it and post up the log for one of us to look at.

Thanks I'll try that. could just be that I've gained so much at 3k and up that it just seems like its slower from start. :D looked under the truck this morning to see what type of exhaust it had and found out it's a glasspack with no cat. also have a specter drop in filter.
