tune, detune, retune now faster???

Post by Black Knight »

Due to personal tragic events I haven't "played with" this tuner much since I bought it and tuned my 13' 200 to the 93 octane tune with a few parameters adjusted. I was pleased with the results.

Last week I needed to take the car to the dealer so I wrote back the factory tune.

After I got the car back, I re-tuned it with the 93 octane program and adjusted the throttle boost this time to only 1% previously it was 5%. This is the only difference between the first time I tuned it to now.

I will be a monkey's uncle if the damn thing isn't noticeably faster now. I KNOW it isn't placebo, for example it will now chirp from a roll whereas before it didn't and my tires are still almost the same as when I bought the tuner 8 months ago.

I am not displeased, I just don't understand what changed? I was running E85 even before I first tuned it and it hasn't seen anything besides 100% E85 since then. :?:

I didn't update the tuner after I wrote back the factory tune either. :?: I almost don't want to, cause it's faster now. :drivingbad: :?: :?:

Any ideas?

could just be the adaptives being reset, or something they fixed in the update.

why only boost the throttle 1%? it seems like that wouldn't even be noticeable. i boost it to the full 20% and i can still barely feel a difference...

is it possible that while at the dealer they updated the pcm and now the intune has put a different tune in it? or like mike said might have reset a few things.

Well I just ran a 6.2 second 0-60 so that is pretty impressive,... considering this is at 5280+ feet above sea level and the car supposedly runs 6.3-6.8 at sea level depending on what you have read.
