Initial Setup

Post by moretorque05 »

Got my i2 tonight.

1. The "tune vehicle" and "scan tool" options are grayed out when it's plugged into the vehicle and PC.

2. "Wi-Fi" configuration is grayed out so I can't connect it to a network.

3. Under advanced options, the "Check for updates" option is grayed out.

When I connect it to my laptop and update using the utility, no updates are found.

What am I missing? I had an i1000 and it worked great.

2015 Silverado 1500 6.2L

Thanks!

wifi is currently disabled, so correct - that will be grayed out.. so will check for updates, since wifi is disabled.. you have to connect to a computer and run the updater utility in order to check for updates...

when connected to your truck, did you have the key turned on?? need to have the key turned to ON position...

anything aftermarket installed on the truck? if so, anything non-factory has to be disconnected...

Just got my i2 yesterday. Are there any updates? Mine did not find any when running from a windows computer. With the 87 tune does it turn off AFM and if not where do I find it to shut it off? Thanks

Got it running. Thank you Mikel and Lew. I was rushing/excited to try it and didn't have the truck keyed to on.

When will the WiFi function be turned on?

Also, is there any shot it will ever support the 8 speed trans in the Silverado?

Thanks much!

+1 on the wifi and 8 speed support, did you notice a huge decrease in gas mileage and some knock occasionally? Also TCM module fail to read? Went from an average of 18-19mpg to 13mpg, at first i thought i had my foot into it too much and then drove a little more economically and still very little change in mpg. But it is night and day performance wise! Moved into the mpg booster tune and got the mpg back up to 17mpg.

yes tcm failed to read because the 8 speed tranny is not supported.. so you need to skip the TCM options, skip the tcm part of the tuning process, press X for any TCM stuff..

Yea the TCM is thing is due to lack of 8 speed support. I got a DiablewTune in it as quickly as possible. I got him a log of a 0-120mph run. I can only assume knock isn't an issue.

A diablew tune is diffidently next for me. The Diablo tune is awesome but my gas mileage is in the 13s on the highway. The 8 speed shifts pretty nicely but is always trying to shift up to the next gear, I think causing the knock due to low rpms in a high gear. What are you seeing for mileage with diablew tune? Lou can you do select a tune? When the cruise control is on not engaged it is in stock form(mpg booster) and when the cruise is off it is in a performance tune?
