Trouble code? "Control module programming error"?

Post by RAMnUTAH »

When checking my U7130 troublecodes it says, "control module programming error/not programmed".
What does this mean & why am I seeing it? because I do feel the tune installed when I drive & it says it was installed. It will clear when I reset it, but will come back occasionally. I dont get any trouble lights on my truck so I dont know if its the ecm or the predator.
Right now I have the (nonstacked) extreme tune programmed, but do have the puck installed on my "stock" 03. I normally leave the puck off unless im feeling a little froggy.

Please update to the latest revision. This should fix the issue.

Thanks

I see you just release r25, I have r24 so i'll give it a try thanks.
Also Does this update give me the performance stack tune like on the U7131 or is there just the 2 stack tunes for the U7130?

I updated my revision to r25 but the error still shows up. What does this error actualy mean?
When I recieved my U7130 i believe the revision was r22. I never got the error with that revision & It seems like overall tunes seemed to work better too. Is there a way to reload back to r22? I read the post from partsdan & I also seem to be geting worse mileage now @14-15mpg around town.(hand calc.) My overhead reads close to that also. But before I changed from r22 my overhead read 18 on extreme tune. (didnt hand calc. though) Now I did also add the power puck about the same time I updated my U7130. would the puck reduce my MPG?

That error code is because of the tune that is installed, it is normal, the pcm just sees something has changed and complains about it, completely normal. Once you restore the original backup it will go away since nothing has changed in it.
The tunes from r22 to r25 had no changes performance wise, we did fix the cold start glow plug issue, thats it. I have seen the puck make no difference in mileage, no improvement maybe a slight loss due to fact that one romps on it more with it on.

the "romp" factor! Now that could be true  , although I've been trying to drive conservative just to check if I get better MPG. That was my first reason why I bought the predator, but now that I have felt the huge power difference from stock theres seems to be no way im going back. I would like the increase in MPG though.
Overall does the stack tunes or the regular tunes produce better MPG?
Also I never got an answer on if there is supposed to be 3 stack tunes or just 2 on the U7130?

I would say running without the puck would yield better mileage. The tunes should have no difference in mileage.
There are just 2 stack tunes in the U7130, we can not physically fit more data in the unit, thats why it was limited to two per calid.
