99 dodge check engine ight

Post by yokalryder »

I have a 99 dodge 2500 4wd with the 24 valve cummins, the motor is all stock wtih exception of the power puck i just installed, when i installed the puck, and took it for a test drive after about 5 minutes my check engine light came on, the truck runs fine, the power increase was exactly what i was looking for, but now my check engine light is on form when i turn the key on till i shut it down, i just want to know if this is normal or is there something i can do to shut the light off? the truck is lifted on 35 inch tires so i do not want to only use the puck when im towing, i would rather just leave it hooked up. a freind suggested unhooking the batteries for a couple minutes to "reset" the computer, could that work or would i be waisting my time

I would suggest getting your hands on a code scanner to see what the code is. Clear it and see if it comes back, if it does, there may be an issue.

Thanks
