Why is there no 89 Octane Tune on the i2?

Post by ZPirate »

Just purchased a DiabloSport Intune i2 for my 2013 Dodge Durango R/T. Loaded the 87 octane tune and it works fine. Now I am trying to decide whether I want to upgrade to one of the 93 octane tunes and use premium gas or have a custom tune. The tuner I have been communicating with offers both an 89 octane custom tune and a 93 octane custom tune. In the long run the 89 octane tune might be better since the D is my daily driver, but since the i2 doesn't come with an 89 octane tune I would need a custom tune. By the way my D is stock except for a K&N air filter.

BTW Dodge recommends 89 octane gas for my R/T.

Just curious. Why run 89 octane gas with an 87 octane tune?

no need, you could save a few bucks and run 87...it will outperform the stock tune on 89 all day ;)
