2014 Sliverado 5.3 firm shift auto4wd

Post by lance455 »

I recently got the in tune i2 and just removed the limiter and added the firm shift to the truck shifts are definitely a improvement all around though 1-2 could be a pinch firmer sometimes bangs in to gear near max rpm but let off and what ever gear it want to shift into bangs a little but over all great.

My main question is would the firm shift tune effect the shifts points in auto 4wd cause at wot 1-2 will sometimes bang in to second and when wot in a random gear and it shifts down to second it will bang will do same down to first gear. It kind of a random thing but when it does it you can definitely hear and feel it.Otherwise normal driving it seems to shift fine besides wanting a touch firmer 1-2. Hard shift tune I think would be to much. Overall I can live with the tune but the banging while in auto 4wd can't be good on things.

Wouldn't the hard shift just make the banging issue just bang into or out of gear harder? Firms is about right but the banging at 3/4 to wot is what I'm concern about shifts fine at norm everyday driving. Another question does shift pattern change in 2wd vs auto 4wd notice the banging mostly in auto and sometimes in 2wd at 3/4 to wot throttle in 1-2 and what ever gear down to 1 or 2 where the banging seem to occurs
