Hey guys....I'm currently running the CAI 93 tune plus the raised shift firmness and raised shift points in the quick adjust menu. It kind of makes me nervous when I see the RPM's hit that high in red before shifting.
So, is it recommended to raise the shift points on the 5.7's???
Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

So, I am not hurting anything with the raised shift points?mikel wrote:If you wanna go faster...do it!

No you are not, but i would not do it unless you have a cam to alter your power curve as the raised shift points in the 5.7 are way past your peak power.
Give it a shot and you will feel how the car lays down before it shifts. You will not hurt anything, that same tranny is in the srt8 and it shifts at 6400 all day long.

What? Mike said, "If you wanna go faster...do it!" and Johan says that unless you have a cam, you're "way past your peak power" in a 5.7 if you raise the shift points.
Is the car going to perform a 0-60 or 1/4 mile faster with raised shift points, or not? Just trying to clear it up because I always thought the raised shift points were better for performance.
By the way, Johan, I e-mailed you back. Thanks again.

Mike & Johan.....You guys are awesome. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly on this. I will go ahead and take off the raised shift points in the quick adjust and just ride with the CAI 93 tune and firmer shifts. Thanks again guys.
RE: Re: RE: Recommended to raise shift points on 5.7???
I realize they are the experts, however my 07 is a dog with stock shift points, you may be past your power band at 5800 from 1-2 but when it shifts you are already climbing back up the curve with the raised shift points, stock my car shifted at 5500 and I can tell you that extra 300 rpms makes a differance
RE: Re: RE: Recommended to raise shift points on 5.7???
does the predator automatically raise the rev limiter when you raise shift pts or do u have to do it manually?
RE: Re: RE: Recommended to raise shift points on 5.7???
I had to manually raise my limiter in the tuner. Otherwise it revs to the limiter, cuts out and runs in limp mode.
RE: Re: RE: Recommended to raise shift points on 5.7???
They are raised in the tunes but some cars need them raised more to prevent it from hitting rev limiter, it is the dcx slow tach problem.

+1! Same with my '05. Raise the shift points. Raise the rev limit. Raise the shift stiffness. Raise the fun quotient!bob34787 wrote:I realize they are the experts, however my 07 is a dog with stock shift points, you may be past your power band at 5800 from 1-2 but when it shifts you are already climbing back up the curve with the raised shift points, stock my car shifted at 5500 and I can tell you that extra 300 rpms makes a differance
