Unable to Import Custom Tune, Currently Car-less

Post by obajoba »

I know this is a very finicky device/process so I will try to give the exact steps I took. In summary, I copy the custom tune .drg that my tuner sent me to the i2 and it prompts with the Disclaimer but doesn't do anything else so the custom tune doesn't show up as an option for install on my car. Here is what I did, in order:

1. Installed DiabloSport PCM into my Jeep, got the original backup and loaded the 91 Octane tune.
2. Sent the backup .drg file to my tuner
3. Removed the 91 tune/restored the original backup
4. Installed Eaton supercharger
5. Received the new tune .drg file from my tuner, saved it onto my MacBook
6. Connected the i2 to my computer, dropped the file onto the i2 device, nothing happened
7. Connected to the Jeep, no custom tunes available
8. Installed the 91 tune again and it created a new original backup
9. Still can't get it to do anything other than pop-up the Disclaimer when I drop the tune file onto the i2.

What might the problem be? Thoughts?

You dragged it to the root folder correct? Not in any other folders?

Ended up being that I had to copy the file from a Windows machine, from my Mac just wouldn't work. I suspect it has to do with saving to the Mac FS and being unable to convert back to (presumably) FAT32

the problem with macs is, Mac OS automatically puts a bunch of "run-time" files on the device when you connect it.. so look for and find all of the "run-time" files on the intune, and delete them. After that, then it should work just fine on the mac.
