i-1000-dcx intune touch screen problems

my intune has been in my cupboard all winter. Pulled it out today to load the tune on (03 PT GT) and the touch screen isnt responding. I have to select it about thirty times for it to register that there has been a selection. took me about 40 minutes to load the diablotune on today. Is there any fix for this? I cannot even access the touch screen sensitivity screen. im trying to update it now. it was last updated in December 2015. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Updated the unit and it's still not functioning properly. I have the diablotune loaded, so that's not the problem. I have to press the screen around 30 times all over the screen for it to sense the selection. Are there any known issues like this?!

try loosening the 4 screws behind the screen with a small phillips head by 1/4 turn each.

backed off the 4 screws slightly and had the same problem for a bit. It then seemed to be difficult to choose a selection on the main menu, then perform flawlessly once in the device. Cleared all updates, then restarted the unit and ran another update and it seems to be working as new. Now this is with it though USB power on the laptop, I will try it out in the car next time im out at my shop. I am optimistic that it will perform flawlessly as well in the car. So i have no Idea what the exact problem was, but oh well, it is working. Thanks again!!!
