2016 Corvette Z06 - OEM Tune Backup Error Message

Post by RocksZ »

After uploaded my I1000 with the latest software, I tried to tune the Z06. The InTune device appeared to recognize the car but when I tried to tune the vehicle I received an error message that the I1000 could not backup the OEM tune.
I tried emailing the support team but the form would not submit. Also, the support form only shows the Silverado and Tahoe as selected vehicles.
Also, I verified all the downloaded software revisions versus those posted on the DS website.
Thanks for any assistance. I really liked the performance improvement on my '11 C6 GS.

are you sure it was in RUN mode?
If it is an auto and asks about reading the unsupported module click the red x and skip it and go to the ECM tunes.

Thanks

I double-checked the updates (see picture). The steps I used are:
1) Ignition off;
2) Plug the I1000 into OBD port;
3) I1000 boots-up;
4) I1000 screen asks to turn-on accessories;
5) I1000 screen asks to turn car on without starting the motor;
6) I push car ignition button with my foot off of brake for approximately 10 seconds;
7) Instruments cluster lights up;
8) I push I1000 'Tune Vehicle' icon;
9) Disclaimer screen is acknowledged;
10) I select 'Write Tune';
11) I1000 message > 'TCM Calibration for XXXXXXX might need an update. Attempt a backup read?;
12) I chose 'Check Mark';
13) I1000 message > 'Tuneup reading original backup';
14) Backup fails;
15) Screen shows the I1000 tunes, 93 Octane, etc.;
16) I exit all the screens and unplug the I1000 pending resolution.

Pics of the Firmware currently loaded are in the attached photo.

Thanks for your help.

you may have missed my reply about skipping that read:

If it is an auto and asks about reading the unsupported module click the red x and skip it and go to the ECM tunes.

Click the red x there....

Thanks for the reply. Question: If you proceed with the tune after receiving the error notice (hit the Red 'X'), are you still able to restore the ECM to its original tune later?

no.. you need to select RED X to skip that, as your tcm/tranny is not supported..

once you skip that, then it will continue and will install the ECM/engine tune...
