Intune i1000 faint obd2 prompt inop

Hello have a question on my intune i1000
Under the scan tool section it show dtc ,log and at bottom a third section showing obd2- but the obd2 button is light and does not advance or do anything. Is this for live view of data while driving . And can I see live o2 and trim data while driving and not recording.
Is there an update or is this button dead
2010 Silverado 5.3 4wd
