Used Predator without accessories

Post by RubiNoVa »

I recently purchases a used Ripp supercharger kit with Diablo Predator tuner for a 2010 JKUR. The tuner did not come with a computer cable or power adapter. The seller of the kit said there is no need to save my stock tune or download a tune from Ripp. He stated I could simply upload his tune (we have the same Jeep year and make) into my Jeep and that I do not need the computer cable or power cable since the OBDI port powers the Predator tuner. So, can I use his tune? Are all the tunes generic? Any reason I need to buy an computer cable? And, will I have to pay to download tunes because I am the second owner of the Predator?

you may need the cables if the tool asks for an update on the vehicle.

The SC is in the Jeep and running well (I assume, since I've never owned a SC and don't have a gauge to judge psi). Still not sure if I have to (or want to) update the tune frequently. I've looked online at used Diablo tuners but I'm unsure if I need to buy something different if the SC is running well now.
