Info:
2007 GMC Sierra 5.3L Cam swap to 212.218 .600 112 lsa and DOD delete with ls7 lifters and racing springs good for the lift, milled .020 off heads and ported the 799's a little while I had them off and did a valve job.
When I am in the custom tuning menu changing settings, do the baseline settings in this mode start from a stock tune or a modified one? For instance, if the injector slope is @ 0 in the tuner is that the stock setting for a factory tune or does it zero on a mild tune and go from there? Also why are the tuning options so limited for custom tune? Theres no way I can get my truck to idle and run exactly right with the limited number of adjustable parameters in the custom tune setting. I have it starting and running reliably and it's waaaaay more powerfull than stock for sure but not quite there. Is the only way to buy the tuner for $400 then pay another $150 for a custom tune from someone else like Lew? No PE tables, MAF tables, Spark tables, or any of the others that come in a HP tuner? Im not complaining cause the intunei2 does its job well, just wonder if I'm missing something or its really limited in the custom features and parameters.

Re: Custom Tune question
yes there are WOT/PE fueling settings in there you can change.. same with WOT timing/spark advance - those are in there and can be adjusted...
and injector slope can be adjusted as well.. the preset tunes do not change the slope at all, so when you adjust it, you are starting at the stock GM factory settings for that..
No there is no MAF table settings that you can adjust with the tool.. it's a handheld tuner, not hptuners full tuning software..
adjustable parameters with the intune itself include:
Calibrate Speedometer for Gear Ratio
Calibrate Speedo for Tire Size
Cooling Fan Control
Fuel Rich/Lean Adjustment
Spark Timing Advance/Retard
Idle RPM
Top Speed Limiter
Rev Limiter
Disable Active Fuel Management

Re: Custom Tune question
Thanks Lew,
I have my LTFT almost 0'd out so I'll work on spark but I may need a little different afr at idle to smooth it out I think. I may be in touch for mail order tuning. Thanks again

Re: Custom Tune question
need to bump up your idle to at least 800rpm if you haven't already...
if the vehicle will run and drive fine and stay running, and does not stall or die at all, then sure, no problem..I can do an email tune for ya..
but if the vehicle will not stay running, then that's not something I would do via email tuning.. I would take it to a shop to get done..

Re: Custom Tune question
I already raised the idle 150rpm's. It idles and runs just a little lopey still at idle but it catches its self every time. I also notice that its a little rich at idle it seems. Thats why I asked about some additional adjustments cause I would like to lean out the idle just a little. I will keep tuning and see how close I can get it. The cam is supposed to have a range of 1000-5200 acording to texas speed and it seems more sluggish from 1K-2K with the bigger cam than stock with the diablo tune. Thanks for your help so far! One way or another ill get it worked out.
