Intune is Vin Locked on my totaled out truck..

So I have a diablo Intune programmer but couldn't hook it back up to my wrecked truck (2008 GMC Sierra 1500 gas)
I've read where you have to pay the $159 to reset it. My question is can I reset it to be used on my truck I bought now (2005 GMC Sierra 2500 diesel)
Is that possible?
