5.3 vs. 6.0

Post by SeaRay45db »

Had the tune on our 5.3 Yuki. Unfortunately someone did not see the truck, they are hard to miss and turned into it and it's a total loss. Looking at a 2005 Yukon XL Denali with the 6.0. My understanding is the 5.3 is not a Vortex engine even though the silly cover says it is, but the 6.0 is and the tuner will not have as much of an effect on the 6.0 because of that.

True?

6.0 picks up more power than the 5.3 :)

When I put the cold air intake and magna flow exhaust on, it was kind of a wash with the tune. Will this be the same with the 6.0?

Not sure what yo umean.,
A CAI on its best day adds 5-7 rwhp. Cat back adds nothing but sound.
The tune is adding legit power gains through the whole rev range, 15-25 depending on fuel and application.
