2014 Big Horn 1500 8Speed Diablo Tune issue

Post by gzbram »

Flashed truck and it runs for like 5 seconds then dies with an electronic throttle control warning. Did it twice and flashed it back to stock. Is there something else I need to do? Just bought the tuner.

did you use easy tune to load the tune with the speed limiter disabled?

Please go back and load the tune through the advanced menu and disable the speed limiter there and you should be all set.

Thanks

Yes I used the easy tune. I will use the advanced tune and disable and enable the things I want that way then. Thanks. Is that a bug with the easy tune? If so when will it be fixed or addressed?

Okay. That seemed to work. Truck ran after I flashed the 87 tune on it without the same errors as before. Taking a 3 hour trip this weekend to interested in how this tune does on gas.

Is there a list somewhere of what the differences are in the 87 / 91 / 93 tunes? Thinking of taking the truck to the track for a 14 second and slower event in a few weeks. I assume disabling MDS in the tune is the best thing for that? TC has the dash button so I can use that as well.

I've had the same problem. When I used the easy tune option it asked me all the normal questions and when getting ready to load the tune it said failed intilizing parameters. Then loaded the tune and then you press the gas and the truck would shut off. Returned to stock and fine. Just put new tires on wanted to change tire size but did get it to work with the diablo sport tune. It was weird so I guess I'll try the advanced tune and go that way. And I heard the tune has to be installed first before you adjust the tire size? Throws errors there as well.
