cool dave thanks for the heads up.
so far i like the predator but with the prices of diesel now i haven't really drive much and if i do, i take it easy cause can't affort to blow fuel anymore. but the couple of times that i opened her up, she ripped really nice. i'm trying to find out what my fuel mileage is on the xtreme setting, i got 1/2 a tank to go but so far seems like my fuel economy is pretty good(hand calculated of course). after that im going to try it on the performance one and see what my fuel does there.
just got a predator and i need some answers before hookin up

I hope if you are plugging the wastegate, you plan on spending a lot of money on repairs on the motor, turbo, ect... It has a wastegate for a reason, maybe if you were running pulls or drags and put the studs and o-rings you might only blow the turbo. But doing this will distroy the turbo. If you look at a 3116 mech cat, some of the motors are running a non-waste gated turbo, and under heavy fueling the turbo will only last a short time from the high EGT and the load on the turbo. Only my $.02.......duallydave wrote:i just bought a 1/4 inch plug and stuck her in,i blocked the wasegate alltogheter,i think itts 1/4 it may be metric or somthing,

on newer trucks like yours programers like the smarty disable the wastate all together, lots of guys are running well over 40 psi of boost and they wont get that with a modded wasgate, they are electromic and they are disabled to prevent defueling and codes, ive never heard of ruining an engine by blocking the wastegate, there are tons of guys running blocked wastgates and no problems, ive had it blocked for over a year and ive seen lower egts with the higher boost not higher,Ram_tough_06 wrote:I hope if you are plugging the wastegate, you plan on spending a lot of money on repairs on the motor, turbo, ect... I don’t have a smarty on my truck, and glad you mentioned that on a competitor’s site, but I have seen it first hand on the damage to the heads and turbo's from over boost and causing to much pressure on the motor. I have seen many with blown head gaskets and hairline cracks from cylinder to the water jacket (cheaper to replace head casting than repair the cracks with welding and resurfacing). You see more of the 12valve motors with this problem then the 24valve. But face it the 24 valve motors are just starting to get up there for mileage, give it time.
The factory bolts might should be only good to approx 50 lbs of boost then studs should be put in instead. But then again a tale tale sign of the over temp will show on the air to air, the paint will be pealing right off passenger side, a dealer will see this and know what caused this even with no you might have removed all the add-ons that you do. So all I am saying is if you disable a safety thing like the waste gate you will pay sooner or
