8 Speed Transmission

Can you please give me an update on the 8 speed transmission for a 2016 GMC Yukon Denali? I keep seeing that it's coming but it seems to never come. Please let me know. Thanks.

We've been tuning 8 speeds in house for the past week or so, just doing some final validation then we'll release the update to allow it to read the T87 so we can gather files from the field, then we will make tunes for them and release them to the field.

So what will be your promise date for the release of the tuning. I think that's what we are looking for. I understand it takes time. But all we get for an answer usually is soon.

Promise dates are not that easy.
We like to test, and then test more, and make sure it works.
Initial release will not have tunes for ALL 8 speed cals, but it will be able to read the backup out for you to send it to us so we can make tunes from the read and add them to the next database.

Yes! I love seeing the progress and am looking forward to the update.

That "promise date" comment was hilarious though. I have customers that issue the same question not knowing what goes on in the background. Not knowing that as cool as i look above the water I'm paddling like hell underneath like a mallard.

the tool will currently read the 8 speed TCM if you update it so you can send us the file to be added for tunes.

mike when I scan the tcm the tool freezes on the tune load screen. I was able to pull an initial tcm file but it doesn't appear to actually be on the tool. this is the tcm file that I'm able to see at this time. at this time I'm not able to do anything with the tuner luckily the truck still runs and functions properly.
