91 oct tune issue - 2015 challenger RT

Post by Poliflex »

Hi,

I have got an issue with the 91 oct tune on my Challenger RT. Just installed it approx 1 week ago and it seems to work fine with some adjustments (speed limit off, MDS off). Yesterday I would like to modify it again (MDS on). I did the following:

1. Restored the original Dodge setup
2. Use the Advanced tuning option
3. Select the 91 oct tune
4. Select the modifications (speed limit off, MDS on)
5. Tune the PCM

After succssfull tuning I started the engine but it runs terrible and no reaction on the gas pedal (dead)   . So I restored the factory setup and it runs fine. I tried again to use the 91 oct tune with the same bad result as described above.

Than I tuned the car with the Diablo Tune and it works fine. The only thing is that this tune offers only two options to modify (tired size and something else) but no MDS on or off, speed limit, etc. Does the Diablo Tune has the speed limit on or off as standard? It is OK to use the Diablo Tune with 91 oct fuel (here in Germany 95 oct).

Another question:
what is the rev limiter in idle :?: ? On the basic setup it shows 0 rpm and I can adjust it to max 600 rpm or so. For what is this good? :?:

Thanks for your help in advanced,
Thomas

it sounds like yo umay have been looking in the quick adjust menu when loading the diablo tune as those options would appear there, try selecting the modify parameters option.

ALso, if you load the 91 tune and it has no throttle, please grab a copy of the last tune written off the device before you restore the tune to stock so we can see what happened, and post the file here.

I have the exact same problem except I have a 2014 Anniversary Edition Charger RT.

I first updated the tuner as instructed, and followed the rest of the installation instructions for easy tune. I selected the 93 octane tune with the speed limiter off. Installed it and got no where, literally, the car would not respond to the throttle. I reinstalled the original tune, and the car worked again. So I ran a little test. I reinstalled the 93 octane tune, the car worked. I then modified that particular tune by then opting to remove the speed limiter and bingo, the car was a lemon again. Safe to say that the speed limiter removal function is garbage. Sucks that I've just wasted almost 500 bucks on this hunk a junk. The whole reason I bought this thing to simply remove the speed limiter, which it doesn't even do. Waste of time and money. I'm going to try and resale it to some other sucker! Guess that's what happens when buying from the devil.

If you're using the easy tune that is your problem. We are currently working on a fix for it. Use the advanced tune option instead. :D
