Are 2017 models supported?

Post by ridersfan »

Traded my 2016 in on a 2017. Will my i2 be any use yet, or do I have to wait for an update?
5.3L 6 speed.
Thanks

Any idea when 2017 models will be supported? They've been out for many months now....

Just wondering since I recently picked up a 2017 GMC Sierra 5.3L and ordered an I2 almost immediately. I want to level it and put larger tires on, but need the tuner to adjust the speedo to the new tire size.

Please let me know if you have an ETA on the 2017 supported software updates. Thanks.

Marc.

If GM hadnt tried to make it to where you couldnt tune them, we would have had a release a few months ago, but thats not the case unfortunately.

We are very close to a release, keep an eye out over next 2-3 weeks.

Just curious if you have any update on 2017 MY support? on 1/29 you told us it would probably be another 2-3 weeks. That was almost 6 weeks ago (it will be 6 weeks on Thursday, 3/9.)

I'm dying to put new, larger tires on my truck, but don't want to do it until I have a way to update the tire size using my i2. I purchased it in early January, not realizing that my truck wasn't even supported yet.

I check back on the forum every day waiting for the "2017 Sierra Now Supported" message to be on there so I can update my i2 and finally use it, only to be disappointed.

Any update you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to be patient, but having a $400 brick sitting in my center console week after week is killing me.

tire size setting is most likely in the TCM/tranny module on the new 2017's like it is for 2016's.. BUT, the 2017 TCM/tranny can not be tuned.. only the engine will be able to be tuned for 2017's...

Thanks for the great news. I still don't know when my truck will be supported, but at least I know that when it is finally supported I won't be able to adjust my tire size. Awesome.

Tire size should be in the ECM. Has been on other cars I've owned.

Anxiously waiting 2017 support. Want to be able to load the Diablo tune and when returned to stock retain the factory warranty.

So when the 2017 support is released am I going to be able to change the transmission program? I love this 8 speed but the factory programing is hideous.

No, the TCM is encrypted and can't be tuned without removing it from the vehicle currently.
